VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VISITING PANAMA
There has been lengthy discussions re travel to and from Panama and what vaccinations are required. Recently Panama made Yellow Fever a requirement, but a month later changed it to a Recommendation. Please check with your Travel Agent, the closest Panama Consulate or the CDC website to find up to date info on vaccination requirements. Here is an excerpt from a translation of their latest bulletin:

The Ministry of Health of Panama has reevaluated the Yellow Fever regulation established August 5, 2008 and has decided;

1. That the vaccine against Yellow Fever, as of 1 November 2008, will be a RECOMMENDATION and not a requirement for travelers coming from or going to countries with a risk of transmission of this disease;
2. After analyzing the epidemiological situation of Yellow Fever of the countries at risk of transmission, we recommend the vaccine against Yellow Fever for travelers who are coming from or traveling to the following countries: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú and Venezuela in South America, and Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leon and Sudan in Africa.

VACCINATION CLINIC LOCATION PANAMA CITY: Department of Health (Salud) Regional Health Center – “International Immunization Center” Clinic in Clayton (Corozal), look for the IDAAN sign on the right on the street just before the Crossroads Church (if you see the church you have gone too far) on the way to the Miraflores Locks. Turn right at IDAAN and go up the small street until you see several large wooden buildings. The clinic is on the right.
HOURS: Corozol: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 7:30 A.M. TO 12:00 NOON AND FROM 1:00PM TO 3:00 P.M. NUMBERS: 512-6600 and 512-6666.

Note on Medical Care Fees: Many visitors tell me they were pleasantly surprised with the medical fees when they had to go to the hospital or emergency because it was after hours for most clinics or doctor´s offices. Fees are much less than in the US, and service quite likely faster.
